However to loose weight does everyone starts fad dieting , or go to gym almost everyday or start counting their calories obsessively. Is it the right way to loose weight or rather to get healthy?

Therefore making a decision to lead a healthy life, taking steps towards it, forming habits and consistently following it leads to a healthy life… But how is it possible to take this decision and form habits when we are harrowed with the weight that we currently are carrying and with the roller coaster of emotions. It then the positive discussion about weight/fat loss is important.

Well below are the points to form a positive mindset about your weight loss journey:

1. Timeframe : Understanding that the weight which you have put on will take certain amount of time and being ok with it and still working on it. We should ideally aim for 5-10% of weight loss per year, off course with improvement in other health parameters such as sleep, period cycle, hunger signals etc.

2. Enjoying the Process : Avoid thinking that working on weight loss is a suffering and one has to to do excessive exercise or go on a drastic diets which makes us suffer or make us miss food and only then we can achieve our desired weight because neither of it will help you but mindful changes in the diet does it all.

3. One Step at a Time : Start by making small changes in your food habits. If you have a habit of eating 3 Chapati everyday, start by eating 2.5 or 2. Making drastic changes in your food habit will not let you be consistent.

4. Sustainability: Think about sustainable diet , a diet that you can follow for next 10 years. Food that we have been eating since childhood and food that can be eaten by our children. A diet which allow us to do our daily chores and enjoy our social life.

Everything starts with us, we need to first decide that we want to make change in our life, take small steps and path is magically discovered by us. Once you start the journey of getting healthy then you yourself start realizing good and bad for you, you will even start enjoying your gym session and homemade food.
